One morning, you arrive to work and discover a customer has called and left a message complaining about your restaurant. Call the class phone line to listen to the message. (Please leave your name after the message so your teacher knows you called.) After listening to the message on the class phone line, post the answers to these questions: 1. What is the caller's name? 2. What are the problems? Why did the caller complain? 3. What action does the caller want you to take? 1. State your name; 2. Say your phone number right after your name. Many people wait until the end of the message to state their number. This will irritate the receiver of your message because, if he is unable to get it down, he will need to listen to the entire message again. 3. Say your phone number two times. The receiver of the phone call has to write the number as you say it so speak slowly. 4. State the purpose of the call. In as few words as possible, say why you're calling. Is it in regards to an appointment,? Do you need some information? Why are you calling? 5. Politely end the message. Example: Hi, this is Stephanie Thomas at (619) 348-5502. Let me repeat that phone number for you: it's (619) 348-5502. I'm calling to confirm my appointment tomorrow at 2:00. Could you please call or text to confirm the appointment time? Thank you. Good-bye. Write your message below. Then, call the class phone line and leave your message.
